Durante el año 2024, de las 1,371 muertes por homicidio, solo 840 fueron registradas oficialmente ante la Junta Central Electoral, según el "Compendio de Estadísticas Accidentales y Violentas". De estos fallecimientos, 330 fueron considerados como homicidios no intencionales, mientras que 1,041 fueron catalogados como homicidios intencionales.
En cuanto a los métodos utilizados para cometer estos actos, se destaca que la mayoría de los homicidios involucraron armas de fuego, seguidos de armas blancas y objetos contundentes. Además, se reportaron 651 casos de suicidio durante el mismo periodo, con un mayor número de casos en hombres que en mujeres.
